Dajana & Devin’s Romantic Wedding at The Berg Event Space
We often say this, but working with this sweet and funny couple was an absolute pleasure! One thing we love about this job is being able to get to truly know a bride and groom throughout our time with them—from meetings to venue walkthroughs, and more. And, while working with Dajana and Devin, it was easy to see and feel the love they have for one another.
When it came time for their wedding at The Berg Event Space, the weather was beautiful, and the atmosphere was overwhelmingly joyful! Every member of the bridal party had a smile on their face and couldn’t wait to help the bride and groom in celebrating their relationship.
While it’s difficult to pick just a few of the most memorable details from their unforgettable day, some of our favorites include: the overall sense of calmness that Dajana and Devin portrayed, feeling the love radiating from the two of them the moment they exchanged their vows, and the dancing that never seemed to stop thanks to DJ Ray with Icon Event Group.

How did he pop the question? Tell us your love story.
Devin and I had been dating for 1.5 years when we got engaged. He proposed in Maui, Hawaii on July 16, 2017, on top of Mount Haleakala while the sunset was behind us. It was magical, and a day we will both remember for the rest of our lives.

Elegant, romantic, and a great time.
How many friends, family members, and loved ones attended your wedding?
Where did you allocate the most funds?
The venue, DJ, and photographer.
Where did you allocate the least funds?
What was totally worth it?
Everything, from the moment we walked down that aisle to the last song of the evening. It was all worth every penny and the anxiety attack haha.
Share a few things that helped you along the way with planning a wedding.
TheKnot.com was a great way to start and really helped guide my focus to what needed to be done monthly. I would highly recommend hiring a day-of coordinator because McKenzie and her team just made me feel at ease the whole day. You do not need any extra stress the day-of because there are a million other things and emotions already going through your mind.
Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them.
We had the most amazing DJ (DJ Ray with Icon Event Group). We told him what we did not want to hear and let him be creative and artistic from that point on. He did not play one bad song the entire evening. He is great!
What’s your best practical advice to a soon-to-be bride?
Be organized and remember to enjoy it. This is about you and your future husband and no one else. Don’t let other people's’ opinions change how you want your perfect day to be.
What’s next for you as a couple? What memories are you looking forward to making together?
We just recently moved into our new home and are enjoying having space to grow and be together. Our dog Milo really loves his fenced backyard.
We are looking forward to things slowing down a little and to enjoy married life. Wedding, honeymoon, and closing on the house is a lot in one month haha.

Madison, our day-of coordinator through McKenzie Phillips Events, was amazing. She was calm, cool, and collected. She made the day go by with ease and was on top of every detail. I really love how the day-of coordination package starts six weeks from your wedding. That way, you have someone to help you tie all the loose ends together. McKenzie, Madison, and the rest of the staff were unbelievable, and I would recommend everyone to use their services.
